Picture Clip Art for Weathering and Erosion 4th Grade
This postal service is packed total of ideas for education your students about tedious changes including weathering, erosion, and deposition. Take fun learning how landforms can be created due to slow changes to Earth's surface!
i. Get exterior
Walk around the school as a class or ask students to await effectually at home or in their neighborhoods for signs of erosion. Take sediments been dropped off in a new place due to heavy rainfall? Practice rocks appear broken down due to water ice?
An easy way to guide this exploration is with a printable Scavenger Chase.
This was a HUGE success! Through discussion nosotros addressed misconceptions and practiced using academic vocabulary. We found Existent examples of Earth'due south changes right at school.

two. Outset sorting
Sort, sort again, and and then sort some more. We sort Earth'southward changes in 2 unlike ways:
- If a modify generally occurs due to wind, water, or water ice
- Whether a change is considered weathering, erosion, or deposition
While educational activity, I've mainly focused on the amanuensis of alter and And then hash out whether it's weathering, erosion, or deposition.
The commencement image shows 6 dissimilar alter cards to categorize equally occurring due to current of air, water, or ice, and then students completed their own student folio.

The second image shows 27 sorting cards from my Science Sorting Relay product line. These are so fun and can be used in multiple ways to help students cement new learning.

3. Explore models in stations
This is a time-lapse video over a couple of hours of my salt lick and water drip setup.
You tin can gear up a cool demo over a few hours using a salt lick and something that will let water to drip (I used a water cooler that was only slightly open allowing a slow drip. I've heard of some teachers using an IV!)
There are more directions and 5 more than station activities in my Irksome Changes Observation Stations product. Students, teachers, and observing administrators dear it!
"What a keen product. I teach the entire grade level and this resource worked well for ALL my learners. The observation stations are easy to fix & independent for the kiddos to perform by themselves." – Christina S.

iv. Written report vocabulary
Study vocabulary with nine different fold-ups offered in the All in One Science Notebook. Over 18,000 teachers are using this notebook to help guide their explicit pedagogy of new wearisome changes vocabulary. They ALL have photo examples to make prep piece of cake for you!
Fold-up Topics:
- Agents of Weathering
- Agents of Erosion
- Agents of Degradation
- Midweek Process
- Chemical & Mechanical Weathering
- Ice-Wedging
- Constructive and Destructive Forces

5. Explore real examples
Lookout man video examples:
Boring Changes Due to Wind and Water Video: Shows The Moving ridge, rock pillars, Grand Canyon, and bounding main stacks
How Practice Glaciers Move?:A time-lapse camera shows the motility of a glacier and how it carves away rock.
Utilise Google Globe:
Afterwards learning most different types of landforms, have teams research and model the landforms of a item location. Experiencing Landforms on TpT includes landforms posters, information for students, fold-ups, and a landforms model project using Google World.
6. Test prep with job cards
Test prep. No one gets excited for it, but it Can be manageable and enjoyable… especially with chore cards.
This prepare of rigorous multiple-pick task cards will assist ready students for their land testing AND y'all can apply them to play games. Here are 4 easy ideas:
- Use them for your favorite game app!
- Hang them up around the room for students to visit at their own pace with a partner.
- Divide your class into teams, project a question and let them discuss, so randomly call on one student from each squad to give the answer and an caption.
- Print off a copy of the task cards for each team so they can practice marking them up!
- Use the included digital version already prepare in Google Forms.

vii. Review with erosion stations
Stations requite students opportunities for exploration, analysis, and review. I use nine station activities that students can complete at their ain pace. Assign the aforementioned stations to all students, assign dissimilar stations for different groups, or allow students to cull!
On TpT : Erosion Stations
During stations, I also set upward an extension for some students who were set up for even more. This experiment allows students to exam the effects of erosion. Practice gravel, rocks, or plants all-time prevent erosion? Test it out. Measure the mass of the amount of soil eroded. Tape data.
