Kim Jong-hyun (virtually frequently credited equally Jonghyun) was a South Korean singer-songwriter and producer. He began his musical career in 2008 equally a member of the grouping Shinee[i] and later formed the ballad group S.1000. The Ballad.[2]

Jonghyun's debut as a composer was with the Korean lyrics for Shinee's promotional single "Juliette", which was featured on the mini-anthology Romeo, released in May 2009.[3] He participated in the writing of iii songs on Shinee's second Korean studio album, Lucifer. The first, "Up & Downwards", was co-written with Misfit with the rap being written by Minho; the second, "Obsession", was completely written by Jonghyun with Minho once again working on his own rap; and the third, "Shout Out", was co-written by all members of Shinee, JQ and Misfit.[4] In 2012, Jonghyun co-wrote the lyrics to the song with "Warning Clock" with Minho, a song about wishing to wake upwards from the nightmare of a past breakdown.[v] He wrote the lyrics to "Honesty", which was described as a vocal written for the fans who had stayed by their side with unchanging love until that bespeak. Both songs were featured on the mini album Sherlock.[six]

In Feb 2014, later being made the DJ for the MBC FM4U midnight radio show Blue Dark, Jonghyun debuted a composition / songwriting corner titled The Man Who Composes. The corner began in July 2022 and has continued since with dissimilar "seasons" taking place at different times, namely July 2014, November 2014, April 2015, July 2015, January 2016, and July 2016.[7] On January 7, 2015, he debuted as a solo artist with the release of the self-composed vocal "Déjà-Boo" with the participation of Zion.T.[8]

Jonghyun released his first extended play, Base of operations, on Jan 12, 2015.[9] He released the compilation album Story Op.one on September 17 the same twelvemonth, with nine cocky-equanimous songs.[10] Post-obit this, Jonghyun made a comeback with the release of his first full-length album, She Is.[eleven]
